Registration for the 48th Kiwanis Baseball Summer League (ages 5-12) opens 2/1/2025 through 3/1/2025.
Registrations will be accepted after that date but will incur a late fee.
Registrations for Middle School (13&14) & High School (Grades 9 thru 12) Leagues will end March 30th. No late fees are incurred for these leagues.

Additional Information
- Drafts (Ages 7 thru 12): Week of March 17th.
- Picture Day: Friday, May 9th & Saturday, May 10th.
- Gary Gough Classic: May 16-18th.
- Night Game: Each team in A, AA, and AAA will be given one true night game. Older age levels will play multiple games that have a chance to end up under the lights.
- All-Stars: There are All-Star games played for AAA, Majors, Middle School and High School players.
- Tournament Season: 4-Week schedule with different championships of different competitive formats each week. Registration starts 5/15/25.
- Memorial Day Parade: Monday, May 26th.
- Rubber Ducks Night: Monday, June 5th.
- Fall Ball: Hudson teams competing against teams from other communities with weekend games over an 8-week period. Registration starts 7/1/25.
- Be an umpire! Make money and serve the community at the same time. Training in April. Umps needed for any timeframe April-October.
Spring/Summer Baseball Season
The 2025 season will represent the 48th year the Kiwanis Club has sponsored Youth Baseball in Hudson. Starting with our newly named Single-A League for the 5 and 6 year olds and continuing through our High School League for 15 through seniors in High School we anticipate approximately 60 teams made up of over 600 Hudson boys and girls.
SPRING/SUMMER REGISTRATION:
Leagues available for ages 5 through 18
Single-A League - 5/6 - T-ball. All players participate as batters and in the field in every inning of every game. Coach pitch is integrated about halfway through the season. Practices begin: Mid-April. Games: Late April through late June.
Double-A League - 7/8 - Coach pitch. All players are subject to the draft process in an effort to balance the teams. Scores and standings are recorded and a champion is crowned through a post season tournament. Practices begin: Mid-April. Games: Late April through early July.
Triple-A League - 9/10 - Kid pitch. Players can advance on stolen bases, Wild pitches, etc. An All Star Game is held following the post season tournament. Practices begin: Early April. Games: Mid April through early July.
Major League - 11/12 - Hudson teams play a full schedule against each other and a Hudson champion is determined through a post season tournament. Each team plays several games against Aurora teams and Hudson All Stars face Aurora All Stars at the end of the season. Dropped third strike rule takes effect. Practices begin: Early April. Games: Mid April through early July.
Middle School League - 13/14 - Hudson teams participate with several other communities. Lead offs are allowed and pitch count rules are in effect. Practices begin: Late April. Games: Late May through mid July.
High School League - 15-18 - Hudson teams participate with several other communities. Most OHSAA rules apply. Practices begin: Mid May. Games: Late May through mid July.

Where do I send the registration materials? |

No need to send in your registration or payment since they are collected online. We are no longer requiring Birth Certificates at registration but may request them during the season if the need arises. |
When does the season start and end? |

Teams are formed in mid-April with practices beginning shortly afterwards. Games begin late April and run through early July. |
Double-A League (7&8) |
Teams are formed in mid-April with practices beginning shortly afterwards. Games begin late April and run through early July with a single elimination tournament. |

Teams are formed in late March/early April via draft with practices beginning shortly afterwards. Regular season begins Mid-April and runs in to early July followed by a local single or double elimination tournament in each league. |

A typical week will consist of (2) games and (1) practice once the games begin. Prior to that there can be two to three practices per week.
NOTE: Final schedules for teams will not be available until registration ends and we are able to determine the number of teams in each league. |
Where are the games played? |
High School League (15-18) |
Hudson High School fields and "away" fields. Expect to travel to Kent, Solon, Twinsburg, and Aurora. |
Middle School League (13&14) |
Some games will be at Hudson Park fields (Barlow, Cascade, Colony, Oak Grove), and some at "away" fields in the league. Expect to travel to Kent, Solon, Twinsburg, and Aurora. |

What days are the games played? |

Games/practices are scheduled in the evening Monday through Friday and all day Saturday. Sunday's are reserved for rain makeups if necessary. Generally speaking every team age 12 and under will have 2 games per week and one practice per week. Almost every team 12 and under has a game every Saturday. The weekday game and practice will vary from week to week dependent on field availability. Times will vary on weekdays from 5-9 pm. No final schedules are announced until teams are formed. |
Are rain outs rescheduled? |

Rain outs are not rescheduled for this league. |
Double-A League (7&8) |
Yes, rain outs are rescheduled when field availability makes it possible. Games that are halted by weather or darkness must be reported by the coaches within 24 hours for reschedule. Some 13/14 games are played outside of Hudson where we have no control over scheduling. |

Generally, we try to reschedule games that are originally scheduled to play in Hudson based upon field availability. Some games are played outside of Hudson where we have no control over scheduling. |

UMPIRES | ||
Who umpires the games? |
We utilize youth umpires for our 7/8, 9/10, and 11/12 leagues. Adult umpires are used for the 13-14 League & High School League. There are no umpires furnished for the younger leagues. |

How does my child become an umpire in your program? |
They must first submit an online umpire registration completed by a parent or legal guardian. Our Umpire Coordinator conducts indoor training sessions to set expectations and review the rules and then outdoor field training as we get closer to the season. All communication is handled via email. Youth umpires are required to be ages 11 through 18 and/or graduating high school seniors. |

Are the umpires paid? |
The youth umpires are compensated after the season ends based upon the number of games and umpiring position they work for specific games. This will be explained in detail during the indoor training sessions. |
