Hudson Kiwanis History of Giving

1951 Hudson Kiwanis Club Chartered.
(Little League baseball organized)
    Since 2000, over $800,000 has been contributed to The Hudson Schools and Community. Some of the many contributions include:

1952 HHS Kiwanis Key Club founded. High school volunteers helping the community.
1962 Hudson Horse Show. First major club fundraiser which ran for 26 years.
1965 Youth soccer program introduced by Hudson Kiwanis.
1975 Kiwanis initiated youth field hockey program and provided seed money for HHS field hockey teams.
1980 Kiwanis youth baseball introduced.
1984 First Annual Hudson Hoop Classic.
1985 Scholarship program introduced, (3) $1,000 scholarships awarded annually.
1995 Fundraising for lights at The Ball Park at Hudson.

Six computers given to Hudson Library.

1996  Club initiates student loan program.
2000 Hudson Kiwanis Foundation donates $40,000 for athletic fields at Barlow Farm Park.
2001 Hudson Kiwanis Foundation donates $10,000 to David J. Gagat Indoor Instructional Baseball Facility at HHS.

Kiwanis Baseball fields 1,300 players.

2003 First Annual Hudson Kiwanis Foundation donation of $12,000 to Hudson Schools for educational purposes.
2006 Hudson Hoop Classic XXI hosts 107 teams (approximately 1,200 players). Over 7,000 fans attended.

Hudson joins Little League Baseball of America.

2008 Boy Scout Camp Manitoc Cabin Sponsor

Memorial plaque dedicated in memory of Kiwanian Alonzo Church at Hudson High School Baseball Field

2011 Participate in the Young Entrepreneurs Program at East Woods School

Commitment to Hudson Community First for Veteran’s Way Park as a Signature Basketball Court Sponsor at the $10,000 level

Kiwanis members marched with Little League Baseball teams in the Memorial Day Parade

$5,000 commitment to Hudson Schools Foundation for the high school stadium project
